2 Chronicles Chapter 25 ãÌÄáÀøÅé äÇéÌÈîÄéí á

à  áÌÆï-òÆùÒÀøÄéí åÀçÈîÅùÑ ùÑÈðÈä, îÈìÇêÀ àÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ, åÀòÆùÒÀøÄéí åÈúÅùÑÇò ùÑÈðÈä, îÈìÇêÀ áÌÄéøåÌùÑÈìÈÄí; åÀùÑÅí àÄîÌåÉ, éÀäåÉòÇãÌÈï îÄéøåÌùÑÈìÈéÄí. 1 Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
á  åÇéÌÇòÇùÒ äÇéÌÈùÑÈø, áÌÀòÅéðÅé éÀäåÈä:  øÇ÷, ìÉà áÌÀìÅáÈá ùÑÈìÅí. 2 And he did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, but not with a whole heart.
â  åÇéÀäÄé, ëÌÇàÂùÑÆø çÈæÀ÷Èä äÇîÌÇîÀìÈëÈä òÈìÈéå; åÇéÌÇäÂøÉâ, àÆú-òÂáÈãÈéå, äÇîÌÇëÌÄéí, àÆú-äÇîÌÆìÆêÀ àÈáÄéå. 3 Now it came to pass, when the kingdom was established unto him, that he slew his servants who had killed the king his father.
ã  åÀàÆú-áÌÀðÅéäÆí, ìÉà äÅîÄéú:  ëÌÄé ëÇëÌÈúåÌá áÌÇúÌåÉøÈä áÌÀñÅôÆø îÉùÑÆä àÂùÑÆø-öÄåÌÈä éÀäåÈä ìÅàîÉø, ìÉà-éÈîåÌúåÌ àÈáåÉú òÇì-áÌÈðÄéí åÌáÈðÄéí ìÉà-éÈîåÌúåÌ òÇì-àÈáåÉú--ëÌÄé àÄéùÑ áÌÀçÆèÀàåÉ, éÈîåÌúåÌ. 4 But he put not their children to death, but did according to that which is written in the law in the book of Moses, as the LORD commanded, saying: 'The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.'
ä  åÇéÌÄ÷ÀáÌÉõ àÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ, àÆú-éÀäåÌãÈä, åÇéÌÇòÂîÄéãÅí ìÀáÅéú-àÈáåÉú ìÀùÒÈøÅé äÈàÂìÈôÄéí åÌìÀùÒÈøÅé äÇîÌÅàåÉú, ìÀëÈì-éÀäåÌãÈä åÌáÄðÀéÈîÄï; åÇéÌÄôÀ÷ÀãÅí, ìÀîÄáÌÆï òÆùÒÀøÄéí ùÑÈðÈä åÈîÇòÀìÈä, åÇéÌÄîÀöÈàÅí ùÑÀìÉùÑ-îÅàåÉú àÆìÆó áÌÈçåÌø éåÉöÅà öÈáÈà, àÉçÅæ øÉîÇç åÀöÄðÌÈä. 5 Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and ordered them according to their fathers' houses, under captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, even all Judah and Benjamin; and he numbered them from twenty years old and upward, and found them three hundred thousand chosen men, able to go forth to war, that could handle spear and shield.
å  åÇéÌÄùÒÀëÌÉø îÄéÌÄùÒÀøÈàÅì, îÅàÈä àÆìÆó âÌÄáÌåÉø çÈéÄì--áÌÀîÅàÈä ëÄëÌÇø-ëÌÈñÆó. 6 He hired also a hundred thousand mighty men of valour out of Israel for a hundred talents of silver.

ç  ëÌÄé àÄí-áÌÉà àÇúÌÈä, òÂùÒÅä çÂæÇ÷ ìÇîÌÄìÀçÈîÈä--éÇëÀùÑÄéìÀêÈ äÈàÁìÉäÄéí ìÄôÀðÅé àåÉéÅá, ëÌÄé éÆùÑ-ëÌÉçÇ áÌÅàìÉäÄéí ìÇòÀæåÉø åÌìÀäÇëÀùÑÄéì. 8 But if thou wilt go, and do engage never so valiantly in battle, God will cast thee down before the enemy; for God hath power to help, and to cast down.'
è  åÇéÌÉàîÆø àÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ, ìÀàÄéùÑ äÈàÁìÉäÄéí, åÌîÇä-ìÌÇòÂùÒåÉú ìÄîÀàÇú äÇëÌÄëÌÈø, àÂùÑÆø ðÈúÇúÌÄé ìÄâÀãåÌã éÄùÒÀøÈàÅì; åÇéÌÉàîÆø, àÄéùÑ äÈàÁìÉäÄéí, éÅùÑ ìÇéäåÈä, ìÈúÆú ìÀêÈ äÇøÀáÌÅä îÄæÌÆä. 9 And Amaziah said to the man of God: 'But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel?' And the man of God answered: 'The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.'
é  åÇéÌÇáÀãÌÄéìÅí àÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ, ìÀäÇâÌÀãåÌã àÂùÑÆø-áÌÈà àÅìÈéå îÅàÆôÀøÇéÄí, ìÈìÆëÆú, ìÄîÀ÷åÉîÈí; åÇéÌÄçÇø àÇôÌÈí îÀàÉã áÌÄéäåÌãÈä, åÇéÌÈùÑåÌáåÌ ìÄîÀ÷åÉîÈí áÌÈçÃøÄé-àÈó.  {ñ} 10 Then Amaziah separated them, to wit, the army that was come to him out of Ephraim, to go back home; wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, and they returned home in fierce anger. {S}
éà  åÇàÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ, äÄúÀçÇæÌÇ÷, åÇéÌÄðÀäÇâ àÆú-òÇîÌåÉ, åÇéÌÅìÆêÀ âÌÅéà äÇîÌÆìÇç; åÇéÌÇêÀ àÆú-áÌÀðÅé-ùÒÅòÄéø, òÂùÒÆøÆú àÂìÈôÄéí. 11 And Amaziah took courage, and led forth his people, and went to the Valley of Salt, and smote of the children of Seir ten thousand.

éâ  åÌáÀðÅé äÇâÌÀãåÌã, àÂùÑÆø äÅùÑÄéá àÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ îÄìÌÆëÆú òÄîÌåÉ ìÇîÌÄìÀçÈîÈä, åÇéÌÄôÀùÑÀèåÌ áÌÀòÈøÅé éÀäåÌãÈä, îÄùÌÑÉîÀøåÉï åÀòÇã-áÌÅéú çåÉøåÉï; åÇéÌÇëÌåÌ îÅäÆí ùÑÀìÉùÑÆú àÂìÈôÄéí, åÇéÌÈáÉæÌåÌ áÌÄæÌÈä øÇáÌÈä.  {ô} 13 But the men of the army whom Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell upon the cities of Judah, from Samaria even unto Beth-horon, and smote of them three thousand, and took much spoil. {P}
éã  åÇéÀäÄé, àÇçÂøÅé áåÉà àÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ îÅäÇëÌåÉú àÆú-àÂãåÉîÄéí, åÇéÌÈáÅà àÆú-àÁìÉäÅé áÌÀðÅé ùÒÅòÄéø, åÇéÌÇòÂîÄéãÅí ìåÉ ìÅàìÉäÄéí; åÀìÄôÀðÅéäÆí éÄùÑÀúÌÇçÂåÆä, åÀìÈäÆí éÀ÷ÇèÌÅø. 14 Now it came to pass, after that Amaziah was come from the slaughter of the Edomites, that he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and prostrated himself before them, and offered unto them.
èå  åÇéÌÄçÇø-àÇó éÀäåÈä, áÌÇàÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ; åÇéÌÄùÑÀìÇç àÅìÈéå, ðÈáÄéà, åÇéÌÉàîÆø ìåÉ ìÈîÌÈä ãÈøÇùÑÀúÌÈ àÆú-àÁìÉäÅé äÈòÈí, àÂùÑÆø ìÉà-äÄöÌÄéìåÌ àÆú-òÇîÌÈí îÄéÌÈãÆêÈ. 15 Wherefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against Amaziah, and He sent unto him a prophet, who said unto him: 'Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which have not delivered their own people out of thy hand?'
èæ  åÇéÀäÄé áÌÀãÇáÌÀøåÉ àÅìÈéå, åÇéÌÉàîÆø ìåÉ äÇìÀéåÉòÅõ ìÇîÌÆìÆêÀ ðÀúÇðÌåÌêÈ--çÂãÇì-ìÀêÈ, ìÈîÌÈä éÇëÌåÌêÈ; åÇéÌÆçÀãÌÇì äÇðÌÈáÄéà, åÇéÌÉàîÆø éÈãÇòÀúÌÄé ëÌÄé-éÈòÇõ àÁìÉäÄéí ìÀäÇùÑÀçÄéúÆêÈ--ëÌÄé-òÈùÒÄéúÈ æÌÉàú, åÀìÉà ùÑÈîÇòÀúÌÈ ìÇòÂöÈúÄé.  {ô} 16 And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that [the king] said unto him: 'Have we made thee of the king's counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten?' Then the prophet forbore, and said: 'I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.' {P}
éæ  åÇéÌÄåÌÈòÇõ, àÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ îÆìÆêÀ éÀäåÌãÈä, åÇéÌÄùÑÀìÇç àÆì-éåÉàÈùÑ áÌÆï-éÀäåÉàÈçÈæ áÌÆï-éÅäåÌà îÆìÆêÀ éÄùÒÀøÈàÅì, ìÅàîÉø:  ìÀêÈ, ðÄúÀøÈàÆä ôÈðÄéí. 17 Then Amaziah king of Judah took advice, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying: 'Come, let us look one another in the face.'
éç  åÇéÌÄùÑÀìÇç éåÉàÈùÑ îÆìÆêÀ-éÄùÒÀøÈàÅì, àÆì-àÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ îÆìÆêÀ-éÀäåÌãÈä ìÅàîÉø, äÇçåÉçÇ àÂùÑÆø áÌÇìÌÀáÈðåÉï ùÑÈìÇç àÆì-äÈàÆøÆæ àÂùÑÆø áÌÇìÌÀáÈðåÉï ìÅàîÉø, úÌÀðÈä-àÆú-áÌÄúÌÀêÈ ìÄáÀðÄé ìÀàÄùÌÑÈä; åÇúÌÇòÂáÉø çÇéÌÇú äÇùÌÒÈãÆä, àÂùÑÆø áÌÇìÌÀáÈðåÉï, åÇúÌÄøÀîÉñ, àÆú-äÇçåÉçÇ. 18 And Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying: 'The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying: Give thy daughter to my son to wife; and there passed by the wild beasts that were in Lebanon, and trod down the thistle.
éè  àÈîÇøÀúÌÈ, äÄðÌÅä äÄëÌÄéúÈ àÆú-àÁãåÉí, åÌðÀùÒÈàÂêÈ ìÄáÌÀêÈ, ìÀäÇëÀáÌÄéã; òÇúÌÈä, ùÑÀáÈä áÌÀáÅéúÆêÈ--ìÈîÌÈä úÄúÀâÌÈøÆä áÌÀøÈòÈä, åÀðÈôÇìÀúÌÈ àÇúÌÈä åÄéäåÌãÈä òÄîÌÈêÀ. 19 Thou sayest--lo, thou hast smitten Edom; will thy heart therefore lift thee up to glory therein? abide now at home; why shouldest thou meddle with evil, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?'
ë  åÀìÉà-ùÑÈîÇò àÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ--ëÌÄé îÅäÈàÁìÉäÄéí äÄéà, ìÀîÇòÇï úÌÄúÌÈí áÌÀéÈã:  ëÌÄé ãÈøÀùÑåÌ, àÅú àÁìÉäÅé àÁãåÉí. 20 But Amaziah would not hear; for it was of God, that He might deliver them into the hand [of their enemies], because they had sought after the gods of Edom.

ëâ  åÀàÅú àÂîÇöÀéÈäåÌ îÆìÆêÀ-éÀäåÌãÈä áÌÆï-éåÉàÈùÑ áÌÆï-éÀäåÉàÈçÈæ, úÌÈôÇùÒ éåÉàÈùÑ îÆìÆêÀ-éÄùÒÀøÈàÅì--áÌÀáÅéú ùÑÈîÆùÑ; åÇéÀáÄéàÅäåÌ, éÀøåÌùÑÈìÇÄí, åÇéÌÄôÀøÉõ áÌÀçåÉîÇú éÀøåÌùÑÈìÇÄí îÄùÌÑÇòÇø àÆôÀøÇéÄí òÇã-ùÑÇòÇø äÇôÌåÉðÆä, àÇøÀáÌÇò îÅàåÉú àÇîÌÈä. 23 And Joash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, at Beth-shemesh, and brought him to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
