à åÇéÌÄîÀìÉêÀ éÀäåÉùÑÈôÈè áÌÀðåÉ, úÌÇçÀúÌÈéå; åÇéÌÄúÀçÇæÌÅ÷, òÇì-éÄùÒÀøÈàÅì.

1 And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.
|

á åÇéÌÄúÌÆï-çÇéÄì--áÌÀëÈì-òÈøÅé éÀäåÌãÈä, äÇáÌÀöËøåÉú; åÇéÌÄúÌÅï ðÀöÄéáÄéí, áÌÀàÆøÆõ éÀäåÌãÈä, åÌáÀòÈøÅé àÆôÀøÇéÄí, àÂùÑÆø ìÈëÇã àÈñÈà àÈáÄéå.

2 And he placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
|

â åÇéÀäÄé éÀäåÈä, òÄí-éÀäåÉùÑÈôÈè: ëÌÄé äÈìÇêÀ, áÌÀãÇøÀëÅé ãÌÈåÄéã àÈáÄéå äÈøÄàùÑÉðÄéí, åÀìÉà ãÈøÇùÑ, ìÇáÌÀòÈìÄéí.

3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto the Baalim;

ã ëÌÄé ìÅàìÉäÅé àÈáÄéå, ãÌÈøÈùÑ, åÌáÀîÄöÀåÉúÈéå, äÈìÈêÀ; åÀìÉà, ëÌÀîÇòÂùÒÅä éÄùÒÀøÈàÅì.

4 but sought to the God of his father, and walked in His commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.
|
|
ä åÇéÌÈëÆï éÀäåÈä àÆú-äÇîÌÇîÀìÈëÈä áÌÀéÈãåÉ, åÇéÌÄúÌÀðåÌ ëÈì-éÀäåÌãÈä îÄðÀçÈä ìÄéäåÉùÑÈôÈè; åÇéÀäÄé-ìåÉ òÉùÑÆø-åÀëÈáåÉã, ìÈøÉá.

5 Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance.

å åÇéÌÄâÀáÌÇäÌ ìÄáÌåÉ, áÌÀãÇøÀëÅé éÀäåÈä; åÀòåÉã, äÅñÄéø àÆú-äÇáÌÈîåÉú åÀàÆú-äÈàÂùÑÅøÄéí--îÄéäåÌãÈä. {ô}

6 And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD; and furthermore he took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah. {P}
|

æ åÌáÄùÑÀðÇú ùÑÈìåÉùÑ ìÀîÈìÀëåÉ, ùÑÈìÇç ìÀùÒÈøÈéå ìÀáÆï-çÇéÄì åÌìÀòÉáÇãÀéÈä åÀìÄæÀëÇøÀéÈä, åÀìÄðÀúÇðÀàÅì, åÌìÀîÄéëÈéÈäåÌ--ìÀìÇîÌÅã, áÌÀòÈøÅé éÀäåÌãÈä.

7 Also in the third year of his reign he sent his princes, even Ben-hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;

ç åÀòÄîÌÈäÆí äÇìÀåÄéÌÄí, ùÑÀîÇòÀéÈäåÌ åÌðÀúÇðÀéÈäåÌ åÌæÀáÇãÀéÈäåÌ åÇòÂùÒÈäàÅì åùîøéîåú (åÌùÑÀîÄéøÈîåÉú) åÄéäåÉðÈúÈï åÇàÂãÉðÄéÌÈäåÌ åÀèåÉáÄéÌÈäåÌ åÀèåÉá àÂãåÉðÄéÌÈä--äÇìÀåÄéÌÄí; åÀòÄîÌÈäÆí àÁìÄéùÑÈîÈò åÄéäåÉøÈí, äÇëÌÉäÂðÄéí.

8 and with them the Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.

è åÇéÀìÇîÌÀãåÌ, áÌÄéäåÌãÈä, åÀòÄîÌÈäÆí, ñÅôÆø úÌåÉøÇú éÀäåÈä; åÇéÌÈñÉáÌåÌ áÌÀëÈì-òÈøÅé éÀäåÌãÈä, åÇéÀìÇîÌÀãåÌ áÌÈòÈí.

9 And they taught in Judah, having the book of the Law of the LORD with them; and they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.
|

é åÇéÀäÄé ôÌÇçÇã éÀäåÈä, òÇì ëÌÈì-îÇîÀìÀëåÉú äÈàÂøÈöåÉú, àÂùÑÆø, ñÀáÄéáåÉú éÀäåÌãÈä; åÀìÉà ðÄìÀçÂîåÌ, òÄí-éÀäåÉùÑÈôÈè.

10 And a terror from the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
|

éà åÌîÄï-ôÌÀìÄùÑÀúÌÄéí, îÀáÄéàÄéí ìÄéäåÉùÑÈôÈè îÄðÀçÈä--åÀëÆñÆó îÇùÌÒÈà; âÌÇí äÈòÇøÀáÄéàÄéí, îÀáÄéàÄéí ìåÉ öÉàï, àÅéìÄéí ùÑÄáÀòÇú àÂìÈôÄéí åÌùÑÀáÇò îÅàåÉú, åÌúÀéÈùÑÄéí ùÑÄáÀòÇú àÂìÈôÄéí åÌùÑÀáÇò îÅàåÉú. {ô}

11 And some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and silver for tribute; the Arabians also brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he-goats. {P}

éá åÇéÀäÄé éÀäåÉùÑÈôÈè äÉìÅêÀ åÀâÈãÅì, òÇã-ìÀîÈòÀìÈä; åÇéÌÄáÆï áÌÄéäåÌãÈä áÌÄéøÈðÄéÌåÉú, åÀòÈøÅé îÄñÀëÌÀðåÉú.

12 And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles and cities of store.
|

éâ åÌîÀìÈàëÈä øÇáÌÈä äÈéÈä ìåÉ, áÌÀòÈøÅé éÀäåÌãÈä; åÀàÇðÀùÑÅé îÄìÀçÈîÈä âÌÄáÌåÉøÅé çÇéÄì, áÌÄéøåÌùÑÈìÈÄí.

13 And he had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valour, in Jerusalem.
|

éã åÀàÅìÌÆä ôÀ÷ËãÌÈúÈí, ìÀáÅéú àÂáåÉúÅéäÆí: ìÄéäåÌãÈä, ùÒÈøÅé àÂìÈôÄéí-- {ñ} òÇãÀðÈä äÇùÌÒÈø, åÀòÄîÌåÉ âÌÄáÌåÉøÅé çÇéÄì ùÑÀìÉùÑ îÅàåÉú àÈìÆó. {ñ}

14 And this was the numbering of them according to their fathers' houses: of Judah, the captains of thousands: {S} Adnah the captain, and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand; {S}

èå åÀòÇì-éÈãåÉ, éÀäåÉçÈðÈï äÇùÌÒÈø; åÀòÄîÌåÉ, îÈàúÇéÄí åÌùÑÀîåÉðÄéí àÈìÆó. {ñ}

15 and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand; {S}

èæ åÀòÇì-éÈãåÉ òÂîÇñÀéÈä áÆï-æÄëÀøÄé, äÇîÌÄúÀðÇãÌÅá ìÇéäåÈä; åÀòÄîÌåÉ îÈàúÇéÄí àÆìÆó, âÌÄáÌåÉø çÈéÄì. {ñ}

16 and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself unto the LORD, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour; {S}

éæ åÌîÄï-áÌÄðÀéÈîÄï--âÌÄáÌåÉø çÇéÄì, àÆìÀéÈãÈò; åÀòÄîÌåÉ ðÉùÑÀ÷Åé-÷ÆùÑÆú åÌîÈâÅï, îÈàúÇéÄí àÈìÆó. {ñ}

17 and of Benjamin: Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield; {S}

éç åÀòÇì-éÈãåÉ, éÀäåÉæÈáÈã; åÀòÄîÌåÉ îÅàÈä-åÌùÑÀîåÉðÄéí àÆìÆó, çÂìåÌöÅé öÈáÈà. {ñ}

18 and next to him Jehozabad, and with him a hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for war. {S}
|

19 These were they that waited on the king beside those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah. {P}
