1 Chronicles Chapter 19 ãÌÄáÀøÅé äÇéÌÈîÄéí à

à  åÇéÀäÄé, àÇçÂøÅé-ëÅï, åÇéÌÈîÈú, ðÈçÈùÑ îÆìÆêÀ áÌÀðÅé-òÇîÌåÉï; åÇéÌÄîÀìÉêÀ áÌÀðåÉ, úÌÇçÀúÌÈéå. 1 And it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his stead.
á  åÇéÌÉàîÆø ãÌÈåÄéã àÆòÁùÒÆä-çÆñÆã òÄí-çÈðåÌï áÌÆï-ðÈçÈùÑ, ëÌÄé-òÈùÒÈä àÈáÄéå òÄîÌÄé çÆñÆã, åÇéÌÄùÑÀìÇç ãÌÈåÄéã îÇìÀàÈëÄéí, ìÀðÇçÂîåÉ òÇì-àÈáÄéå; åÇéÌÈáÉàåÌ òÇáÀãÅé ãÈåÄéã àÆì-àÆøÆõ áÌÀðÅé-òÇîÌåÉï, àÆì-çÈðåÌï--ìÀðÇçÂîåÉ. 2 And David said: 'l will show kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.' So David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. And David's servants came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.
â  åÇéÌÉàîÀøåÌ ùÒÈøÅé áÀðÅé-òÇîÌåÉï ìÀçÈðåÌï, äÇîÀëÇáÌÅã ãÌÈåÄéã àÆú-àÈáÄéêÈ áÌÀòÅéðÆéêÈ, ëÌÄé-ùÑÈìÇç ìÀêÈ, îÀðÇçÂîÄéí; äÂìÉà áÌÇòÂáåÌø ìÇçÀ÷Éø åÀìÇäÂôÉêÀ åÌìÀøÇâÌÅì, äÈàÈøÆõ, áÌÈàåÌ òÂáÈãÈéå, àÅìÆéêÈ. 3 But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun: 'Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?'
ã  åÇéÌÄ÷ÌÇç çÈðåÌï àÆú-òÇáÀãÅé ãÈåÄéã, åÇéÀâÇìÌÀçÅí, åÇéÌÄëÀøÉú àÆú-îÇãÀåÅéäÆí áÌÇçÅöÄé, òÇã-äÇîÌÄôÀùÒÈòÈä; åÇéÀùÑÇìÌÀçÅí. 4 So Hanun took David's servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their hips, and sent them away.

And he sent to meet them; for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said: 'Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.' {S}
å  åÇéÌÄøÀàåÌ áÌÀðÅé òÇîÌåÉï, ëÌÄé äÄúÀáÌÈàÂùÑåÌ òÄí-ãÌÈåÄéã; åÇéÌÄùÑÀìÇç çÈðåÌï åÌáÀðÅé òÇîÌåÉï àÆìÆó ëÌÄëÌÇø-ëÌÆñÆó, ìÄùÒÀëÌÉø ìÈäÆí îÄï-àÂøÇí ðÇäÂøÇéÄí åÌîÄï-àÂøÇí îÇòÂëÈä åÌîÄöÌåÉáÈä, øÆëÆá, åÌôÈøÈùÑÄéí. 6 And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Aram-naharaim, and out of Aram-maacah, and out of Zobah.

Then Joab came to Jerusalem. {S}

So when David had put the battle in array against the Arameans, they fought with him.
