1 Samuel Chapter 18 ùÑÀîåÌàÅì à

à  åÇéÀäÄé, ëÌÀëÇìÌÉúåÉ ìÀãÇáÌÅø àÆì-ùÑÈàåÌì, åÀðÆôÆùÑ éÀäåÉðÈúÈï, ðÄ÷ÀùÑÀøÈä áÌÀðÆôÆùÑ ãÌÈåÄã; åéàäáå (åÇéÌÆàÁäÈáÅäåÌ) éÀäåÉðÈúÈï, ëÌÀðÇôÀùÑåÉ. 1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
á  åÇéÌÄ÷ÌÈçÅäåÌ ùÑÈàåÌì, áÌÇéÌåÉí äÇäåÌà; åÀìÉà ðÀúÈðåÉ, ìÈùÑåÌá áÌÅéú àÈáÄéå. 2 And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father's house.
â  åÇéÌÄëÀøÉú éÀäåÉðÈúÈï åÀãÈåÄã, áÌÀøÄéú, áÌÀàÇäÂáÈúåÉ àÉúåÉ, ëÌÀðÇôÀùÑåÉ. 3 Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as his own soul.
ã  åÇéÌÄúÀôÌÇùÌÑÅè éÀäåÉðÈúÈï, àÆú-äÇîÌÀòÄéì àÂùÑÆø òÈìÈéå, åÇéÌÄúÌÀðÅäåÌ, ìÀãÈåÄã; åÌîÇãÌÈéå, åÀòÇã-çÇøÀáÌåÉ åÀòÇã-÷ÇùÑÀúÌåÉ åÀòÇã-çÂâÉøåÉ. 4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his apparel, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.

å  åÇéÀäÄé áÌÀáåÉàÈí, áÌÀùÑåÌá ãÌÈåÄã îÅäÇëÌåÉú àÆú-äÇôÌÀìÄùÑÀúÌÄé, åÇúÌÅöÆàðÈä äÇðÌÈùÑÄéí îÄëÌÈì-òÈøÅé éÄùÒÀøÈàÅì ìùåø (ìÈùÑÄéø) åÀäÇîÌÀçÉìåÉú, ìÄ÷ÀøÇàú ùÑÈàåÌì äÇîÌÆìÆêÀ--áÌÀúËôÌÄéí áÌÀùÒÄîÀçÈä, åÌáÀùÑÈìÄùÑÄéí. 6 And it came to pass as they came, when David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with timbrels, with joy, and with three-stringed instruments.
æ  åÇúÌÇòÂðÆéðÈä äÇðÌÈùÑÄéí äÇîÀùÒÇçÂ÷åÉú, åÇúÌÉàîÇøÀïÈ:  äÄëÌÈä ùÑÈàåÌì áÌÇàÂìÈôÈå, åÀãÈåÄã áÌÀøÄáÀáÉúÈéå. 7 And the women sang one to another in their play, and said: Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
ç  åÇéÌÄçÇø ìÀùÑÈàåÌì îÀàÉã, åÇéÌÅøÇò áÌÀòÅéðÈéå äÇãÌÈáÈø äÇæÌÆä, åÇéÌÉàîÆø ðÈúÀðåÌ ìÀãÈåÄã øÀáÈáåÉú, åÀìÄé ðÈúÀðåÌ äÈàÂìÈôÄéí; åÀòåÉã ìåÉ, àÇêÀ äÇîÌÀìåÌëÈä. 8 And Saul was very wroth, and this saying displeased him; and he said: 'They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands; and all he lacketh is the kingdom!'
è  åÇéÀäÄé ùÑÈàåÌì, òåï (òåÉéÅï) àÆú-ãÌÈåÄã, îÅäÇéÌåÉí äÇäåÌà, åÈäÈìÀàÈä.  {ñ} 9 And Saul eyed David from that day and forward. {S}

éà  åÇéÌÈèÆì ùÑÈàåÌì, àÆú-äÇçÂðÄéú, åÇéÌÉàîÆø, àÇëÌÆä áÀãÈåÄã åÌáÇ÷ÌÄéø; åÇéÌÄñÌÉá ãÌÈåÄã îÄôÌÈðÈéå, ôÌÇòÂîÈéÄí. 11 And Saul cast the spear; for he said: 'I will smite David even to the wall.' And David stepped aside out of his presence twice.
éá  åÇéÌÄøÈà ùÑÈàåÌì, îÄìÌÄôÀðÅé ãÈåÄã:  ëÌÄé-äÈéÈä éÀäåÈä òÄîÌåÉ, åÌîÅòÄí ùÑÈàåÌì ñÈø. 12 And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Saul.

éã  åÇéÀäÄé ãÈåÄã ìÀëÈì-ãÌÀøÈëÈå, îÇùÒÀëÌÄéì; åÇéäåÈä, òÄîÌåÉ. 14 And David had great success in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.

èæ  åÀëÈì-éÄùÒÀøÈàÅì åÄéäåÌãÈä, àÉäÅá àÆú-ãÌÈåÄã:  ëÌÄé-äåÌà éåÉöÅà åÈáÈà, ìÄôÀðÅéäÆí.  {ô} 16 But all Israel and Judah loved David; for he went out and came in before them. {P}

For Saul said: 'Let not my hand be upon him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him.' {S}

éè  åÇéÀäÄé, áÌÀòÅú úÌÅú àÆú-îÅøÇá áÌÇú-ùÑÈàåÌì--ìÀãÈåÄã; åÀäÄéà ðÄúÌÀðÈä ìÀòÇãÀøÄéàÅì äÇîÌÀçÉìÈúÄé, ìÀàÄùÌÑÈä. 19 But it came to pass at the time when Merab Saul's daughter should have been given to David, that she was given unto Adriel the Meholathite to wife.
ë  åÇúÌÆàÁäÇá îÄéëÇì áÌÇú-ùÑÈàåÌì, àÆú-ãÌÈåÄã; åÇéÌÇâÌÄãåÌ ìÀùÑÈàåÌì, åÇéÌÄùÑÇø äÇãÌÈáÈø áÌÀòÅéðÈéå. 20 And Michal Saul's daughter loved David; and they told Saul, and the thing pleased him.

Wherefore Saul said to David: 'Thou shalt this day be my son-in-law through the one of the twain.'

For Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.
