1 Samuel Chapter 1 ùÑÀîåÌàÅì à

à  åÇéÀäÄé àÄéùÑ àÆçÈã îÄï-äÈøÈîÈúÇéÄí, öåÉôÄéí--îÅäÇø àÆôÀøÈéÄí; åÌùÑÀîåÉ àÆìÀ÷ÈðÈä áÌÆï-éÀøÉçÈí áÌÆï-àÁìÄéäåÌà, áÌÆï-úÌÉçåÌ áÆï-öåÌó--àÆôÀøÈúÄé. 1 Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim-zophim, of the hill-country of Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite.
á  åÀìåÉ, ùÑÀúÌÅé ðÈùÑÄéí--ùÑÅí àÇçÇú çÇðÌÈä, åÀùÑÅí äÇùÌÑÅðÄéú ôÌÀðÄðÌÈä; åÇéÀäÄé ìÄôÀðÄðÌÈä éÀìÈãÄéí, åÌìÀçÇðÌÈä àÅéï éÀìÈãÄéí. 2 And he had two wives: the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah; and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.
â  åÀòÈìÈä äÈàÄéùÑ äÇäåÌà îÅòÄéøåÉ îÄéÌÈîÄéí éÈîÄéîÈä, ìÀäÄùÑÀúÌÇçÂå‍Éú åÀìÄæÀáÌÉçÇ ìÇéäåÈä öÀáÈàåÉú áÌÀùÑÄìÉä; åÀùÑÈí ùÑÀðÅé áÀðÅé-òÅìÄé, çÈôÀðÄé åÌôÄðÀçÈñ, ëÌÉäÂðÄéí, ìÇéäåÈä. 3 And this man went up out of his city from year to year to worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there priests unto the LORD.
ã  åÇéÀäÄé äÇéÌåÉí, åÇéÌÄæÀáÌÇç àÆìÀ÷ÈðÈä; åÀðÈúÇï ìÄôÀðÄðÌÈä àÄùÑÀúÌåÉ, åÌìÀëÈì-áÌÈðÆéäÈ åÌáÀðåÉúÆéäÈ--îÈðåÉú. 4 And it came to pass upon a day, when Elkanah sacrificed, that he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and her daughters, portions;
ä  åÌìÀçÇðÌÈä, éÄúÌÅï îÈðÈä àÇçÇú àÇôÌÈéÄí:  ëÌÄé àÆú-çÇðÌÈä àÈäÅá, åÇéäåÈä ñÈâÇø øÇçÀîÈäÌ. 5 but unto Hannah he gave a double portion; for he loved Hannah, but the LORD had shut up her womb.
å  åÀëÄòÂñÇúÌÈä öÈøÈúÈäÌ âÌÇí-ëÌÇòÇñ, áÌÇòÂáåÌø äÇøÌÀòÄîÈäÌ:  ëÌÄé-ñÈâÇø éÀäåÈä, áÌÀòÇã øÇçÀîÈäÌ. 6 And her rival vexed her sore, to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.
æ  åÀëÅï éÇòÂùÒÆä ùÑÈðÈä áÀùÑÈðÈä, îÄãÌÅé òÂìÉúÈäÌ áÌÀáÅéú éÀäåÈä--ëÌÅï, úÌÇëÀòÄñÆðÌÈä; åÇúÌÄáÀëÌÆä, åÀìÉà úÉàëÇì. 7 And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she vexed her; therefore she wept, and would not eat.
ç  åÇéÌÉàîÆø ìÈäÌ àÆìÀ÷ÈðÈä àÄéùÑÈäÌ, çÇðÌÈä ìÈîÆä úÄáÀëÌÄé åÀìÈîÆä ìÉà úÉàëÀìÄé, åÀìÈîÆä, éÅøÇò ìÀáÈáÅêÀ:  äÂìåÉà àÈðÉëÄé èåÉá ìÈêÀ, îÅòÂùÒÈøÈä áÌÈðÄéí. 8 And Elkanah her husband said unto her: 'Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?'
è  åÇúÌÈ÷Èí çÇðÌÈä, àÇçÂøÅé àÈëÀìÈä áÀùÑÄìÉä åÀàÇçÂøÅé ùÑÈúÉä; åÀòÅìÄé äÇëÌÉäÅï, éÉùÑÅá òÇì-äÇëÌÄñÌÅà, òÇì-îÀæåÌæÇú, äÅéëÇì éÀäåÈä. 9 So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk--now Eli the priest sat upon his seat by the door-post of the temple of the LORD;
é  åÀäÄéà, îÈøÇú ðÈôÆùÑ; åÇúÌÄúÀôÌÇìÌÅì òÇì-éÀäåÈä, åÌáÈëÉä úÄáÀëÌÆä. 10 and she was in bitterness of soul--and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.
éà  åÇúÌÄãÌÉø ðÆãÆø åÇúÌÉàîÇø, éÀäåÈä öÀáÈàåÉú àÄí-øÈàÉä úÄøÀàÆä áÌÈòÃðÄé àÂîÈúÆêÈ åÌæÀëÇøÀúÌÇðÄé åÀìÉà-úÄùÑÀëÌÇç àÆú-àÂîÈúÆêÈ, åÀðÈúÇúÌÈä ìÇàÂîÈúÀêÈ, æÆøÇò àÂðÈùÑÄéí--åÌðÀúÇúÌÄéå ìÇéäåÈä ëÌÈì-éÀîÅé çÇéÌÈéå, åÌîåÉøÈä ìÉà-éÇòÂìÆä òÇì-øÉàùÑåÉ. 11 And she vowed a vow, and said: 'O LORD of hosts, if Thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of Thy handmaid, and remember me, and not forget Thy handmaid, but wilt give unto Thy handmaid a man-child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.'
éá  åÀäÈéÈä ëÌÄé äÄøÀáÌÀúÈä, ìÀäÄúÀôÌÇìÌÅì ìÄôÀðÅé éÀäåÈä; åÀòÅìÄé, ùÑÉîÅø àÆú-ôÌÄéäÈ. 12 And it came to pass, as she prayed long before the LORD, that Eli watched her mouth.
éâ  åÀçÇðÌÈä, äÄéà îÀãÇáÌÆøÆú òÇì-ìÄáÌÈäÌ--øÇ÷ ùÒÀôÈúÆéäÈ ðÌÈòåÉú, åÀ÷åÉìÈäÌ ìÉà éÄùÌÑÈîÅòÇ; åÇéÌÇçÀùÑÀáÆäÈ òÅìÄé, ìÀùÑÄëÌÉøÈä. 13 Now Hannah, she spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice could not be heard; therefore, Eli thought she had been drunken.
éã  åÇéÌÉàîÆø àÅìÆéäÈ òÅìÄé, òÇã-îÈúÇé úÌÄùÑÀúÌÇëÌÈøÄéï; äÈñÄéøÄé àÆú-éÅéðÅêÀ, îÅòÈìÈéÄêÀ. 14 And Eli said unto her: 'How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.'

èæ  àÇì-úÌÄúÌÅï, àÆú-àÂîÈúÀêÈ, ìÄôÀðÅé, áÌÇú-áÌÀìÄéÌÈòÇì:  ëÌÄé-îÅøÉá ùÒÄéçÄé åÀëÇòÀñÄé, ãÌÄáÌÇøÀúÌÄé òÇã-äÅðÌÈä. 16 Count not thy handmaid for a wicked woman: for out of the abundance of my complaint and my vexation have I spoken hitherto.'
