Daniel Chapter 6 ãÌÈðÄéÌÅàì

à  åÀãÈøÀéÈåÆùÑ, îãéà (îÈãÈàÈä), ÷ÇáÌÅì, îÇìÀëåÌúÈà--ëÌÀáÇø ùÑÀðÄéï, ùÑÄúÌÄéï åÀúÇøÀúÌÅéï. 1 And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.
á  ùÑÀôÇø, ÷ÃãÈí ãÌÈøÀéÈåÆùÑ, åÇäÂ÷Äéí òÇì-îÇìÀëåÌúÈà, ìÇàÂçÇùÑÀãÌÇøÀôÌÀðÇéÌÈà îÀàÈä åÀòÆùÒÀøÄéï--ãÌÄé ìÆäÁå‍Éï, áÌÀëÈì-îÇìÀëåÌúÈà. 2 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom a hundred and twenty satraps, who should be throughout the whole kingdom;
â  åÀòÅìÌÈà îÄðÌÀäåÉï ñÈøÀëÄéï úÌÀìÈúÈä, ãÌÄé ãÈðÄéÌÅàì çÇã-îÄðÌÀäåÉï:  ãÌÄé-ìÆäÁå‍Éï àÂçÇùÑÀãÌÇøÀôÌÀðÇéÌÈà àÄìÌÅéï, éÈäÂáÄéï ìÀäåÉï èÇòÀîÈà, åÌîÇìÀëÌÈà, ìÈà-ìÆäÁåÅà ðÈæÄ÷. 3 and over them three presidents, of whom Daniel was one; that these satraps might give account unto them, and that the king should have no damage.
ã  àÁãÇéÄï, ãÌÈðÄéÌÅàì ãÌÀðÈä, äÂåÈà îÄúÀðÇöÌÇç, òÇì-ñÈøÀëÇéÌÈà åÇàÂçÇùÑÀãÌÇøÀôÌÀðÇéÌÈà:  ëÌÈì-÷ÃáÅì, ãÌÄé øåÌçÇ éÇúÌÄéøÈà áÌÅäÌ, åÌîÇìÀëÌÈà òÂùÑÄéú, ìÇäÂ÷ÈîåÌúÅäÌ òÇì-ëÌÈì-îÇìÀëåÌúÈà. 4 Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the presidents and the satraps, because a surpassing spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
ä  àÁãÇéÄï ñÈøÀëÇéÌÈà åÇàÂçÇùÑÀãÌÇøÀôÌÀðÇéÌÈà, äÂååÉ áÈòÇéÄï òÄìÌÈä ìÀäÇùÑÀëÌÈçÈä ìÀãÈðÄéÌÅàì--îÄöÌÇã îÇìÀëåÌúÈà; åÀëÈì-òÄìÌÈä åÌùÑÀçÄéúÈä ìÈà-éÈëÀìÄéï ìÀäÇùÑÀëÌÈçÈä, ëÌÈì-÷ÃáÅì ãÌÄé-îÀäÅéîÇï äåÌà, åÀëÈì-ùÑÈìåÌ åÌùÑÀçÄéúÈä, ìÈà äÄùÑÀúÌÀëÇçÇú òÂìåÉäÄé. 5 Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel as touching the kingdom; but they could find no occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
å  àÁãÇéÄï âÌËáÀøÇéÌÈà àÄìÌÅêÀ, àÈîÀøÄéï, ãÌÄé ìÈà ðÀäÇùÑÀëÌÇç ìÀãÈðÄéÌÅàì ãÌÀðÈä, ëÌÈì-òÄìÌÈä; ìÈäÅï, äÇùÑÀëÌÇçÀðÈà òÂìåÉäÄé áÌÀãÈú àÁìÈäÅäÌ.  {ñ} 6 Then said these men: 'We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him in the matter of the law of his God.' {S}
æ  àÁãÇéÄï ñÈøÀëÇéÌÈà åÇàÂçÇùÑÀãÌÇøÀôÌÀðÇéÌÈà, àÄìÌÅï, äÇøÀâÌÄùÑåÌ, òÇì-îÇìÀëÌÈà; åÀëÅï àÈîÀøÄéï ìÅäÌ, ãÌÈøÀéÈåÆùÑ îÇìÀëÌÈà ìÀòÈìÀîÄéï çÁéÄé. 7 Then these presidents and satraps came tumultuously to the king, and said thus unto him: 'King Darius, live for ever!

è  ëÌÀòÇï îÇìÀëÌÈà, úÌÀ÷Äéí àÁñÈøÈà åÀúÄøÀùÑËí ëÌÀúÈáÈà:  ãÌÄé ìÈà ìÀäÇùÑÀðÈéÈä ëÌÀãÈú-îÈãÇé åÌôÈøÇñ, ãÌÄé-ìÈà úÆòÀãÌÅà. 9 Now, O king, establish the interdict, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.'

éà  åÀãÈðÄéÌÅàì ëÌÀãÄé éÀãÇò ãÌÄé-øÀùÑÄéí ëÌÀúÈáÈà, òÇì ìÀáÇéÀúÅäÌ, åÀëÇåÌÄéï ôÌÀúÄéçÈï ìÅäÌ áÌÀòÄìÌÄéúÅäÌ, ðÆâÆã éÀøåÌùÑÀìÆí; åÀæÄîÀðÄéï úÌÀìÈúÈä áÀéåÉîÈà äåÌà áÌÈøÅêÀ òÇì-áÌÄøÀëåÉäÄé, åÌîÀöÇìÌÅà åÌîåÉãÅà ÷ÃãÈí àÁìÈäÅäÌ, ëÌÈì-÷ÃáÅì ãÌÄé-äÂåÈà òÈáÅã, îÄï-÷ÇãÀîÇú ãÌÀðÈä.  {ñ} 11 And when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house--now his windows were open in his upper chamber toward Jerusalem--and he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. {S}
éá  àÁãÇéÄï âÌËáÀøÇéÌÈà àÄìÌÅêÀ, äÇøÀâÌÄùÑåÌ, åÀäÇùÑÀëÌÇçåÌ, ìÀãÈðÄéÌÅàì--áÌÈòÅä åÌîÄúÀçÇðÌÇï, ÷ÃãÈí àÁìÈäÅäÌ. 12 Then these men came tumultuously, and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God.
éâ  áÌÅàãÇéÄï ÷ÀøÄáåÌ åÀàÈîÀøÄéï ÷ÃãÈí-îÇìÀëÌÈà, òÇì-àÁñÈø îÇìÀëÌÈà--äÂìÈà àÁñÈø øÀùÑÇîÀúÌÈ ãÌÄé ëÈì-àÁðÈùÑ ãÌÄé-éÄáÀòÅà îÄï-ëÌÈì-àÁìÈäÌ åÆàÁðÈùÑ òÇã-éåÉîÄéï úÌÀìÈúÄéï ìÈäÅï îÄðÌÈêÀ îÇìÀëÌÈà, éÄúÀøÀîÅà ìÀâåÉá àÇøÀéÈåÈúÈà; òÈðÅä îÇìÀëÌÈà åÀàÈîÇø, éÇöÌÄéáÈà îÄìÌÀúÈà ëÌÀãÈú-îÈãÇé åÌôÈøÇñ--ãÌÄé-ìÈà úÆòÀãÌÅà. 13 Then they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king's interdict: 'Hast thou not signed an interdict, that every man that shall make petition unto any god or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?' The king answered and said: 'The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.'
éã  áÌÅàãÇéÄï òÂðåÉ åÀàÈîÀøÄéï, ÷ÃãÈí îÇìÀëÌÈà--ãÌÄé ãÈðÄéÌÅàì ãÌÄé îÄï-áÌÀðÅé âÈìåÌúÈà ãÌÄé éÀäåÌã ìÈà-ùÒÈí òìéê (òÂìÈêÀ) îÇìÀëÌÈà èÀòÅí, åÀòÇì-àÁñÈøÈà ãÌÄé øÀùÑÇîÀúÌÈ; åÀæÄîÀðÄéï úÌÀìÈúÈä áÌÀéåÉîÈà, áÌÈòÅà áÌÈòåÌúÅäÌ. 14 Then answered they and said before the king: 'That Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the interdict that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.'
èå  àÁãÇéÄï îÇìÀëÌÈà ëÌÀãÄé îÄìÌÀúÈà ùÑÀîÇò, ùÒÇâÌÄéà áÌÀàÅùÑ òÂìåÉäÄé, åÀòÇì ãÌÈðÄéÌÅàì ùÒÈí áÌÈì, ìÀùÑÅéæÈáåÌúÅäÌ; åÀòÇã îÆòÈìÅé ùÑÄîÀùÑÈà, äÂåÈà îÄùÑÀúÌÇãÌÇø ìÀäÇöÌÈìåÌúÅäÌ. 15 Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
èæ  áÌÅàãÇéÄï âÌËáÀøÇéÌÈà àÄìÌÅêÀ, äÇøÀâÌÄùÑåÌ òÇì-îÇìÀëÌÈà; åÀàÈîÀøÄéï ìÀîÇìÀëÌÈà, ãÌÇò îÇìÀëÌÈà ãÌÄé-ãÈú ìÀîÈãÇé åÌôÈøÇñ, ãÌÄé-ëÈì-àÁñÈø åÌ÷ÀéÈí ãÌÄé-îÇìÀëÌÈà éÀäÈ÷Åéí, ìÈà ìÀäÇùÑÀðÈéÈä. 16 Then these men came tumultuously unto the king, and said unto the king: 'Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians, that no interdict nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.'
éæ  áÌÅàãÇéÄï îÇìÀëÌÈà àÂîÇø, åÀäÇéÀúÄéå ìÀãÈðÄéÌÅàì, åÌøÀîåÉ, ìÀâËáÌÈà ãÌÄé àÇøÀéÈåÈúÈà; òÈðÅä îÇìÀëÌÈà, åÀàÈîÇø ìÀãÈðÄéÌÅàì, àÁìÈäÈêÀ ãÌÄé àðúä (àÇðÀúÌÀ) ôÌÈìÇç-ìÅäÌ áÌÄúÀãÄéøÈà, äåÌà éÀùÑÅéæÀáÄðÌÈêÀ. 17 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spoke and said unto Daniel: 'Thy God whom thou servest continually, He will deliver thee.'

éè  àÁãÇéÄï àÂæÇì îÇìÀëÌÈà ìÀäÅéëÀìÅäÌ, åÌáÈú èÀåÈú, åÀãÇçÂåÈï, ìÈà-äÇðÀòÅì ÷ÈãÈîåÉäÄé; åÀùÑÄðÀúÌÅäÌ, ðÇãÌÇú òÂìåÉäÄé. 19 Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting; neither were diversions brought before him; and his sleep fled from him.

ëá  àÁãÇéÄï, ãÌÈðÄéÌÅàì, òÄí-îÇìÀëÌÈà, îÇìÌÄì:  îÇìÀëÌÈà, ìÀòÈìÀîÄéï çÁéÄé. 22 Then said Daniel unto the king: 'O king, live for ever!

So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he had trusted in his God.
